“Monarchial Government is the best.” – Bossuet

If monarchial government is the most natural, it is consequently the most durable, and from this the strongest as well. It is also the most opposed to division, which is the essential evil in states, and the most certain cause of their ruin; in accordance with these words: “Every kingdom divided against itself shall be made desolate: and every city or house divided aginst itself shall not stand.” (Matt. 2:35) When states are formed, one seeks unity, and one is never so unified as under a single leader. In addition, one is stronger because everything happens in concert. Armies, in which human power most clearly, naturally want a single chief; everything is in peril when command is divided. Since military government naturally needs to be exercised by one person alone, it follows that this form of government is most fitting to all those states which are weak and imperilled, if they are not shaped for war. This happens above all in warrio-states, which transform themselves easily into monarchy, as did the Roman republic, and several others of the same nature. It is better that this  be established early and gently, because it is too violent when it gets the upper hand by open force.
